Hello, I’m Liz Ahn, a Licensed Professional Counselor at Abide Therapy Services, LLC and am here to support you on your healing journey. I believe that true healing begins with connection. 🔹 Who I Work With: I work with Korean adoptees, BIPOC individuals, Christian clients, women and men, as well as children and young adults. Additionally, I support those healing from betrayal and trust issues.

My Story & Experience:
My Journey to Becoming a Counselor: Turning Pain Into Purpose
Since 2002, I’ve worked with children in schools, helping them overcome emotional and academic challenges while addressing some of my own. Through this experience, I learned how trauma, anxiety, and depression can impact a person’s life. I carry this understanding into every session, offering support to children, adults, and families navigating similar challenges.
After facing my own struggles with infertility, miscarriages, and an ectopic pregnancy, I was inspired to pursue counseling more deeply. These personal challenges have taught me the universality of pain and suffering, reinforcing my commitment to providing therapy that is compassionate, gentle, and supportive. Pain and suffering are universal experiences we all have in common despite our differences. We all have a story; I will listen to yours and gently hold it for you, for as long or as short as you need.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Business Administration and obtained a Master’s in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University in 2005 becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Additionally, I am an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Certified Therapist, in helping clients navigate emotional distress with evidence-based and highly effective strategies through a compassionate lens. My goal is to help you feel secure and connected throughout the therapeutic process as we navigate through your life’s demands and transitions.
Outside of my professional life, I’m married with three children and live in a multigenerational home. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, playing golf, and riding bikes with my family.

My work with children and adolescents integrates Playful EMDR, combining play, art, and sand tray with traditional therapy. This fun, creative approach allows children to express difficult emotions in a safe, non-threatening way, helping them heal without feeling overwhelmed.
